If you run it on a folder, the photos are moved to the trash after you finish reviewing them in the app. If you run it on a photos library, the duplicate photos are moved to an album where you can once again review them, and then you can just do command + a and hit delete. For the autoselection process, you can have it choose which one to select based on things like size or how recent each copy is. You can either look through all the photos that it identifies as duplicates or allow it to autoselect which ones to delete. By default, it will only find duplicates in your photos library (the pictures in your Photos app), but you can also scan any folder on your computer as well. Would love to see a few, hopefully simple improvements: 1) ability to mark for deleting using custom filters like “all dups in _ folder,” 2) words in filenames like “conflict” or "(1)” should be triggers that it is probably the dup to mark, 3) ability to double click on the folder tree at the bottom to open Finder and examine folder contents or 4) right click and choose “mark all dups in this folder” would save tremendous amounts of time, 5) ability to select-all-from-selected-to-end would be great for when you don’t have time to finish reviewing the next ~1,000 pix, 6) ability to mark an unmarked dup and app would unselect the next-most-likely dup, 7) ability to mark all dups in a group for deletion when you don’t want the photo (e.g., blurry or temporary photo of my shopping list). I’ll be much more cautious when I start using it for my Photos Library. It crashed a couple times when handling several thousand photos, but no bad effects when deleting from my file folders. This app saved me so much time and space. Great free app! A couple bugs, but worth the price Photos Duplicate Cleaner by Systweak Software will remove unwanted duplicate photos seamlessly. V-genes are grouped in families consisting of genes with at least 50% sequence homology. The high diversity of these chains is generated by stepwise recombinations of a multitude of variable ( V), in case of the β-chain diversity ( D), and joining ( J) gene sequences with a corresponding constant ( C) chain during thymic T-cell evolution. Recognition of Major Histocompatibility Complex class I (MHC-I) bound peptide is mediated by the dimeric transmembrane T-cell receptor (TCR) composed of an α- and a β-chain in the majority of cases. T-cell mediated immune responses are characterized by activation and subsequent clonal expansion of antigen-specific cells. T-lymphocytes are specialized mediators of the adaptive immune system, selectively destroying cells altered by viral infection or malignant transformation. The experimental strategy described allows the identification of alterations in the Vβ-family repertoire. We introduce a versatile method for the relative quantification of Vβ-families by real time PCR. The method was applied both to tissue and blood samples from patients with carcinomas and hematological disorders. We analyzed blood samples of 20 healthy volunteers for determination of mean and standard deviation for each family. Duplicates showed excellent technical reproducibility. Calculated percentages were in good correspondence with qRT PCR results demonstrating high reliability. The method was tested by serial dilutions of clonal T-cells in mononuclear cells from healthy volunteers. Total expression of α/ β TCR was assessed by quantification of the constant α-chain as a further control. Relative concentrations were calculated considering slopes and crossing points of each PCR reaction. Vβ-families were quantified using a universal reverse primer and family-specific forward primers with TaqMan technology on a light cycler instrument. Here, the heterogeneity of sequences within single families is the most challenging problem for exact quantification. Besides southern blotting and antibody-based approaches, quantitative real time PCR (qRT PCR) has been more widely applied in this context during the last years. These data provide supporting evidence for the hypothesis that acute GVHD is associated with expansion of T-cell clones expressing antigen-specific TCRs that may contribute to the disease pathology.Quantification of T-cell receptor (TCR) chain families can be utilized for detection of clonal T-cell populations. In most cases the probes are highly specific in detecting TCR expression from GVHD lesions alone, although in several instances expression could be detected in PB after GVHD diagnosis. Sequence-specific TCR CDR3 region probes were derived from analysis of the predominant expressed TCR in GVHD lesions, and used to probe Southern blots of amplified V beta 2 TCR mRNA from PB and tissue from BMT recipients and their respective donors. In contrast, GVHD-negative biopsy samples showed no evidence for clonotypic TCR amplification. We found evidence of oligoclonal expansion of single V beta 2-bearing TCRs in GVHD lesions, and in the PB of some patients after diagnosis of GVHD. V beta 2 TCR expression from these patients was analyzed more extensively using a combination of individual TCR gene cloning, followed by sequence analysis. In one such family, TCR V beta 2 is predominantly expressed in 7 of 7 biopsy specimens examined. Results of PCR studies from graft-versus-host disease (GVHD) skin lesions show a bias in the usage of TCR V beta families, whereas examination of peripheral blood (PB) withdrawn at the same time did not reveal a similar phenomenon. We have analyzed the T-cell receptor (TCR) V beta repertoire using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) in a cohort of eight patients receiving allogeneic bone marrow transplantation (BMT) from related and unrelated donors at the City of Hope. 290/.394/.445 hitting as a switch hitter in 1977 and, as a result, moved Murphy to first base. They apparently were happy with Pocoroba and his very good. The Braves, though, recognized that Murphy might not be a catcher in the future. That trouble was named Dale Bryan Murphy, who was an enormous catcher drafted out of high school with the fifth pick overall in 1974. Even with regular playing time, however, there was trouble on the horizon for Biff that came with the September call-ups in 1976 and again in 1977. He certainly would have benefited by playing regularly in Triple-A rather than backing up journeyman Vic Correll in 19.įinally, in 1977, Biff got his break and played reasonably regularly for a terrible Braves team that finished 61-101. Almost certainly, Pocoroba would have benefited by playing more than 1 game in 1972 in Triple-A. Part of this mismanagement was not having a clue as to player development. As much as the Braves success over the past twenty-five years was built in part thanks to Ted Turner's purse strings and his national cable plan for TBS, the club was a mismanaged cesspool in the mid-to-late 1970s. Pocoroba played sparingly for two seasons for the Braves. He attracted attention that spring for, as the Baseball Library says (no citation, I couldn't find anything to prove or disprove either) "when he threw out 11 straight runners in 1975 spring training." He made the team, but then he did not play for 18 games - making his debut as a late-inning substitution on April 25, 1975. In spring training of 1975, Pocoroba was going to be given " a long look" in spring training because he was a switch hitter and could handle pitchers well. Biff then spent both 19 at Double-A Savannah learning how to hit. The Braves were not patient souls in those days, so Biff got a 1 game call up to Triple-A as a 19-year-old late in the 1972 season. 298/.360/.427 in 136 plate appearances - so he was sent to Single-A Greenwood the next season. The Braves sent the 17-year-old to Wytheville, Virginia, in the Appalachian League. The Atlanta Braves drafted Biff in the 17th round of the 1971 Draft with the 401st pick overall, and Biff signed immediately. Biff - that's his actual first name - attended Canoga Park High School in Canoga Park, California, and graduated from there in 1971. Biff Benedict Pocoroba was born on July 25, 1953, in Burbank, California. ) We are planning some other projects, too. You can change the design and make your own or you can replicate the one I made. However, the problem with icons is people associate different things with each icon based on their past experience. Your icons should help your users do what they need to do without requiring brainpower. Clarity is the most important characteristic of a great interface. Include a Visible Text LabelĪ good user experience can be defined in many ways, but one measure is the ability to reduce the user’s effort to think. Well-designed icons are fast to recognize at a glance, because the designs ensure readability and clarity even at small sizes. If you want to master your design skills you can rely on your other design elements to convey your product message while keeping the design of system icons simple, modern and friendly.Įach icon should be reduced to its minimal form, with every idea edited to its essence - simplistic icons are there to reduce the need for a learning curve. Don’t get me wrong - I’m not saying that creative icons are bad, but too fancy icons for basic functions might have negative impact on user experience. In most cases, icons aren’t the place to be creative. Familiarize yourself with icons used by your competitors and with icons commonly used on the platforms (existing system icons) that you target, as those will be most recognizable to your users. A user’s understanding of an icon is based on previous experience. Use the 5-second rule: if it takes you more than 5 seconds to think of an appropriate icon for something, it is unlikely that an icon can effectively communicate that meaning.Your icons’ primary task is to guide your users to where they need to go, so make sure that they are able to achieve this goal: And it’s a common mistake to assume that your users are familiar with abstract pictograms. No matter how much sense an icon makes once you know what it’s supposed to represent, it can be a completely different experience for first-time users. There are a few icons that enjoy mostly universal recognition from users (the icons for home, print, and the magnifying glass for search are such instances): If that object or action isn’t clear to users, the icon immediately lose it practical value and becomes a visual noise. Icons are, by definition, a visual representation of an object or action. Icons Should Communicate Meaningĭesigners sometimes hide functionality behind icons that are actually pretty hard to recognize, breaking the most important property of the imagery - icons must first and foremost communicate meaning. Use these tips as a starting point to ensure that your app icons work for you and your app, not against you. In this article, I’ve tried to summarize the main problems associated with the icons in UI and suggest a set of solutions to these problems. Last but not least, most apps use icons, it’s a design pattern which is familiar for the users.ĭespite these potential advantages, icons often cause usability problems when they are designed without consideration for their many potential downsides.Visually pleasing, they can also enhance the aesthetic appeal of a design. They save space on the screen and as screens get smaller, this is much welcomed.Simple, bold, and friendly, they can replace a long (and usually boring) descriptive group of words. There are several reasons why the use of icons might have advantages over text in terms of human-computer interaction: No strings attached! One of his regular guests is Mike Lindell, the pillow businessman who makes conspiratorial election claims so ludicrous that Fox has refused to air ads that have invoked them. Volume levels are unbalanced which creates a situation where the listener increases volume to hear what is being said until Steve interrupts and blows your eardrums out. WarRoom production is JV (junior varsity) at best.
